Joann Lepper

Joann Marie Lepper, 91, of Port Huron, died Thursday, January 29, 2026.

She was born on October 29, 1934, in Detroit to the late Alexander and Grace Jones. She married Lawrence G. Lepper on October 18, 1952. He preceded her in death on February 11, 2017 after 64 years of marriage.

Joann was affectionately known as “Grandma with the Kitties" and adored her grand and great-grandchildren. She was an active member of the Catholic Church and volunteered in many capacities, including leading youth groups and producing musicals. Joann resided at Port Haven Manor and enjoyed her friends and social activities. She loved her cats, gardening, reading mysteries, and interior design. She and her husband renovated an 1800’s Victorian house and a vintage farmhouse. In her early years, Joann worked at an advertising agency. She also worked for over ten years at Boysville of Michigan.

She is survived by her children, Elizabeth (Scott) Daniels, Jennifer (Steve) Bayless, and Alec (Stacey) Lepper; seven grandchildren, Scott (Kim) Duhaime, Jessica (Austin) Best, Michele (Joe) Treat, Mark (Elaina) Daniels, Allison (Adam) DePalma, Sebastian Lepper, and Jessica Bayless. Ten great-grandchildren, including Marshall Duhaime, James and Silas Best, Joseph III, Hunter and Eleanor Treat, Max and Cade Daniels, Henry DePalma, and Elliott Maczkowski.

Inurnment will be in the Allied Veterans Columbarium, Port Huron.
