Jennie "Dorothy" Bromley

Dorothy Bromley, 98, of Marysville, died Monday, February 9, 2026.

She was born April 24, 1927 in Capac, one of six children of the late Alvin and Jennie Kersten. Dorothy was a 1945 graduate of Capac High School. She married Max E. Bromley on September 28, 1946. He preceded her in death on January 25, 2008 after 61 years of marriage.

Dorothy was a phenomenal wife and mother. She had a green thumb, enjoyed painting and loved to golf.

She is survived by two sons, Kerry Bromley and Patrick (Audrey) Bromley; three step-granddaughters, Ashley (Shane) Cullison, Taylor (Will) Bocast and Christina Moitoso (Nate); great grandchildren, Alexis Cullison and Emmet Bocast; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Ashley and Sandy Grant, Mike and Karen Jones.

Dorothy was a gold star mother; preceded in death by her eldest son, Edward, who was killed in Vietnam in 1967.

Graveside services will be held in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville this summer.
