June T. Ward

June Theresa Ward, 89, of Marysville, died on Tuesday, February 10, 2026 after a brief illness.

June was born April 4, 1936 in Marysville to the late Paul and Angeline Osentoski. She married Robert Norman Ward on September 7, 1957 in Smiths Creek at the Holy Rosary Catholic Church. He preceded her in death in 2016 after sharing 58 years of marriage.

June was a graduate of Marysville High School. She was employed at Michigan Bell Telephone Company. She retired from the Marysville Public School System Kitchen Department in 1992, after 21 years. She was a member of St. Christopher Catholic Church and the Altar Society. She was a life member of the Marysville American Legion Auxiliary #449 and past presidents Parley.

June was a dedicated caregiver to her husband for 12 years. She loved life and enjoyed getting together with friends and relatives for lunches and coffee breaks. She loved baking, cooking, and going for walks and bike rides. She also enjoyed going to the casino, dancing, working on ceramics and helping with the Girl Scout Brownies.

June is survived by her daughter, Renae (Thomas) Gerrits; granddaughters, Angela (Logan) Romerrits and Amber (Mike) Gerrits; great grandson, Quinn Romerrits; several dear sisters-in-law and nieces and nephews. She was preceded in death by her daughter, Debra Ann Ward; and several dear siblings, in-laws, nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Monday, February 16, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home. A Rosary will be held at 7:30 p.m.

A Funeral Mass will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, February 17, 2026 in St. Christopher Catholic Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. The Reverend James Arwady will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
