Kurt "Curly" Schuman

Kurt “Curly” Schuman, 69, of Clyde Township, died Tuesday, February 10, 2026.

He was born May 21, 1956 in Port Huron to the late John and Sharon Schuman.

Curly was a graduate of Port Huron High School. He worked in the construction trade as a carpenter for many years and, most recently, enjoyed his job as a bus driver for Blue Water Area Transit. An avid outdoorsman, Kurt enjoyed splitting wood, fishing, shooting and hunting, especially whitetail deer. He was also a sports fan who loved watching games whenever he could.

He is survived by his wife of 46 years, Bella; three children, Ian Schuman, Jon (Renee) Schuman and Trevor Schuman; seven grandchildren, Brendan, Jaxon, Annabelle, Abigail, Kalem, Hunter and Charlotte; sisters, Stephanie (Barry) Stephens, Liane (Shane) Kemp and Marium (Greg) Johnson; and many nieces, nephews and cousins. He was preceded in death by his brother, Eric Schuman.

Burial will be in Ruby Cemetery, Clyde Township.
