Delores G Hill

Delores Gay Hill, 87, of Marysville, died Wednesday, February 25, 2026.

She was born June 15, 1938 in Wayne, West Virginia to the late Charley and Ruby Finley. She married Alton Hill on February 2, 1957 in Detroit. He preceded her in death on December 18, 2014 after 57 years of marriage.

Born with a caregiver’s heart, Delores opened her home to many foster children over the years. She was a natural-born athlete who excelled at basketball and fast-pitch softball. In fact, Delores was inducted into the Port Huron Sports Hall of Fame with the 1964 Pollock-Jowett Women’s Fast Pitch team.

She is survived by a son, Gary (Pam) Hill; daughter, Terri (Michael) Johns; four grandchildren, Jason (Lindsay) Hill, Jamie (Steve) Allen, Matthew Johns and Joshua (Lindsie) Johns; eleven great-grandchildren, Tyler, Drew, Brennan, Isabel, Isaac, Madison, Kaycie, Payton, Isabella, Gaberial and Killian; two brothers, Jack Finley and William Todd (Julianne) Finley; several nieces, nephews, aunts and cousins; longtime dear friend, Kathy Johnson; and the wonderful caregivers who helped in her final years, Carol, Cathi, Cathey and Kathy.

A memorial event to honor Delores’ life will be announced.

Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East.

Memorial contributions may be made to the St. Clair County Council on Aging.
