Ronald G Boddy
Ronald Gene Boddy, 63, of Marysville, passed away Tuesday, March 24, 2026.
Ron was born August 8, 1962 in Port Huron, Michigan, to the late Horace and Delores Boddy. He married the love of his life, Linda Marie Vollstaedt on February 19, 1994 at First Presbyterian Church in Port Huron, beginning 32 years of devoted marriage centered on love, family, and unwavering partnership.
A 1981 graduate of Marysville High School, Ron was a member of the Michigan Regional Council of Carpenters Local 687 and served as Vice President and part owner of Boddy Construction Co. Inc. He worked alongside his father and brother for many years, helping the company grow from custom homes to larger commercial and government projects. He took great pride in his work and the people he worked with.
Ron found joy in life’s simple moments. He loved trips to Las Vegas, Elvis Presley music, solitaire, watching football with his wife by his side, and a pack of Salem Silvers. He appreciated a home-cooked meal, a cold glass of milk, and time spent relaxing.
Above all, Ron’s greatest joy was his family. He was a proud father and beloved “Bumpa” and “Pop,” cherishing every moment with his children and grandchildren. He also had a special love for dogs and their companionship.
He will be remembered for his quiet strength, sense of humor, and the deep love he had for those closest to him.
He is survived by his loving wife, Linda; daughters, Rachelle (Alex) Laidlaw, Sarah (Erik) Griffith and Stacey (James) Westrick; son, Matthew Vollstaedt; grandchildren, Adam and Allison Laidlaw, Olivia and Henry Griffith, and Zachary and Matthew Westrick; mother-in-law, Helen Ingram; brother-in-law, Edward (Virginia) Ingram; sister-in-law, Christine Boddy; nephew, Daniel (Amy) Boddy; niece, Kelli (Rick) Louks; godmother and aunt, Barbara Davis; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his brother, David Boddy; father-in-law, Vern Ingram; and good friend, Kenneth R. Adams.
Visitation will be held from 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, March 27, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home.
