Ronald N Falk

February 01, 1941 to April 08, 2026

Ronald N. Falk, 85, of Ruby, passed away peacefully on Wednesday, April 8, 2026, following a short illness.

He was born on February 1, 1941, in Port Huron, Michigan to the late Carney and Dorothy (Gates) Falk. Ron married his beloved wife, Elaine Overholt on June 7, 1963. They made their home in Ruby where they shared 62 wonderful years of marriage.

Ron attended Avoca Methodist Church and was a hardworking and creative man. He spent many years working for Mueller Brass in the Forging Department before starting his own sign-painting business.

Ron had a deep passion for life, creativity and the outdoors. He enjoyed playing in a hockey league for several years and later continued skating with neighborhood kids, who were always amazed by his skill. He was an active member of the Michigan Canoe Racing Association, racing throughout the state for many years. His love of canoeing carried on through building, racing and painting cardboard boats.

A talented artist, Ron’s creativity could be seen throughout his home and in his beautifully maintained yard. He had a special love for gardening, flowers, nature, and wildlife- but above all, he cherished his family.

He will be remembered for his storytelling, his great sense of humor, and the joy he brought to those around him.

Ron is survived by his loving wife, Elaine; his children, Julie (Gordie) Clark, Jill (Sami) Manninen, and Greg (Jennifer) Falk; six grandchildren, Jeremy (Sara) Waun, Jenna (Erik) Meade, Jessica (George) Eschker, Joey Falk, Jared Falk (fiancé Serenity Lademer), and Emma Manninen; and two great-grandchildren, Isaac and Eleanor Meade, with one more great-grandchild on the way.

He is also survived by his brother, Ken Falk; sisters, Jo Anne Kurzweil and Judy DeBell; and many dear in-laws, including Ruth Falk, Marge Falk, Chris Kurzweil, MaryJane Mellendorf, Marsha and Bob Barnes, and Eric and Marilyn Overholt; along with numerous nieces and nephews.

He was preceded in death by his parents, Carney and Dorothy Falk; his sister, Dorothy Jean Pickett; and his brothers, Bob, Carney, and Don Falk.

He will be deeply missed and forever remembered by all who knew and loved him.

A memorial service will be held at 12 noon on Saturday, May 2, 2026 in Avoca United Methodist Church with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Pastor Joseph Fetterly will officiate.

Memorial contributions may be made to Avoca United Methodist Church.
