Gerald R Albert

Gerald Robert Albert, 85, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord Sunday, April 12, 2026.

He was born December 10, 1940 in Port Huron to the late Fred and Virginia Albert. He married Shirley Dortman on May 8, 1965. She preceded him in death on May 5, 2015 after nearly 50 years of marriage.

Gerald served in the U.S. Air Force. He was employed at Mueller Brass for 40 years before his retirement. Gerald was a very generous person who always put his family first. He loved gardening and animals and enjoyed bowling, playing horseshoes, going to euchre club, shooting pool and spending time at the bar after work with his friends. He was a member of Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles.

He is survived by four children, Dawn Robbins, Chris Cope, Teri Schulte and Gerald Albert Jr.; three grandchildren, Danielle Robbins, Kayla (Dale) Ainsworth and Kady Cope; five great grandchildren; one great-great grandson; siblings, Sharon Eagle, Fred Albert, Rick Hutchinson and Judy (Dan) Fowler; sister-in-law, Cathy Hedberg; several nieces and nephews; and best-friend, Fred Monzo. He was preceded in death by a son, Robert Schulte; two grandchildren, Kelly Cope and Michael Cope; a great grandson, Carter Gainer; a son-in-law, Stanley “Bud” Cope; four siblings, Donna Flora, Diana Tilson, Lillian Weygandt and Terry Hutchinson; and best friend, Jimmy Foster.

Visitation will be from 5-8 p.m. on Wednesday, May 13, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Memorial services will be held at 11:00 a.m. Thursday, May 14, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Shaun Laurain will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery, Fort Gratiot. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the U.S. Air Force and the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Honor Guard.
