William A "Bill" Ernst

William Anthony Ernst, 82, of Lexington, died Friday, April 24, 2026.

He was born September 28, 1943 in St. Clair to the late Nelson and Marcella Ernst. He married Judith Walker on July 6, 1974 in Port Huron. She preceded him in death on June 12, 2023.

William graduated from St. Clair High School 1961. He was employed by Community Mental Health for many years. William was a Big Brother with Big Brothers and Sisters, and won the Big Brother of the Year Award one year. He enjoyed camping with Judy, and stained glass.

He is survived by his cousins, Patricia Pauly and Kenneth Balfour; and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his mother, Marcella Ernst; and grandparents, Francis and Amelia Ernst, and Bernice Ernst.

A private family service has been held.

Burial will be in St. Mary’s Cemetery, St. Clair.
