Allen N "Andy" Dingwell III

Allen Neal “Andy” Dingwell III, 79, of Marysville, died Thursday, April 30, 2026.

He was born March 6, 1947 in Port Huron to the late Norma and Allen Dingwell Jr.

Andy worked as a custodian with the Port Huron Area School District for 16 years prior to his retirement. Known to many as the “bear whisperer”, he enjoyed the outdoors, and spent much time up north hunting and fishing. Andy was a familiar and friendly presence at VF Sports, “Voight’s,” where he was often found spending time, swapping stories, being chairman of the coffee club and warmly greeting customers. He was a member of the Blue Water Sportsman’s Association.

He is survived by his team of friends, Kathy and Kelley Voight, Bob and Karen Stager, Chuck and Debra Glombowski, David and Joyce Giles and Cliff and Terri Amey; and many other friends. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his step-sister, Janet Elsholz; and grandparents, Emil and Lily Heike.

A memorial service will be held at 12 Noon on Wednesday, May 6, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Branden Hunt will officiate. Known for his love of camouflage, guests are invited to wear it in his honor.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
