Gloria E Matthews

Gloria E. Matthews, 97, formerly of Port Huron and Marysville, went home to be with the Lord on Thursday, April 30, 2026, after a long illness.

She was born May 27, 1928 in the Bronx, NY to the late Nicholas and Rose Conforti. She married Wilfred “Bill” Matthews on October 16, 1948 in Port Huron. He preceded her in death on July 1, 1998 after nearly 50 years of marriage.

Gloria was a loving wife, mother, grandmother and great grandmother who enjoyed cooking, bowling and connecting with friends and family and sharing her faith in Jesus Christ.

She is survived by three children, Daniel (Linda) Matthews of Goodells, MI, Anna (Terry) Addley of Bright’s Grove, Ontario, Canada and Lisa (Tim) Raines of Galena, OH, formerly of Marysville, MI; three sisters, Molly Matthews of Galena, OH, formerly Marysville, MI, Dolores (Tiki) Masiello and Marie Florie, both of Pleasantville, NY; 8 grandchildren, Angela Matthews, April (Rob) May, Daniel Matthews Jr. (Michelle), Scott Addley, Nicole Addley, David Addley, Joshua (Amanda) Raines and Jeremy (Taylor) Raines; and 8 great grandchildren. She was preceded in death by a sister, Anna; and brothers-in-law, Ken Matthews, Mike Masiello and Richard Matthews.
