Donald Cruickshank
Donald G. Cruickshank, 89, of Marysville, died Saturday, June 9, 2012.
He was born April 14, 1923 in Port Huron to the late Arthur G. and M. Matilda Cruickshank. He married Carrie E. Peruta on June 2, 1945 in San Francisco, California. She died June 21, 1997. He married Marion Abbott on October 26, 2002 in Las Vegas, Nevada.
Mr. Cruickshank served in the U.S. Navy during World War II and was a past Post Commander of the Marysville American Legion Post 449. He owned and operated Cruickshank Electric for many years. He enjoyed traveling, woodworking, and shipwatching on the St. Clair River. He will always be remembered for his great sense of humor.
Don is survived by his wife Marion of Marysville; son, Michael Don (Jill) Cruickshank of Marysville; daughter, Nancy (Richard) Badley of Marysville; grandchildren, Patrick (Shannon) Cruickshank of Marysville, and Kelley Cruickshank of Sterling Heights; great grandchildren, Jacob and Carly Cruickshank; brother, William “Bud” (Barbara) Cruickshank of Beaver Island; sister, Mary Erard of Grand Rapids; sister-in-law, Betty Cruickshank of Port Huron; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, David.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, June 14, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Mayor Gary Orr will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Burial will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium, Marysville.
