Calvin G Hensler
Calvin Gene Hensler, 86, of Port Huron, died on Monday, May 25, 2026.
He was born December 13, 1939 in Highland Park to the late Clemens and Edna Hensler. Cal married Barbara A. Perz on September 21, 1968 at Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Huron.
Calvin graduated from Port Huron High School and then served proudly in the U.S. Air Force. After returning from the service, Cal worked in construction before starting his own company, Hensler General Contracting. Cal was a lifelong member of Trinity Lutheran Church and served on the board of directors for Community Enterprise for many years. He loved the water and boating, and enjoyed watching the river from his backyard. Cal had a knack for anything requiring creativity, and especially enjoyed tending to his yard and flowers.
He is survived by his loving wife of 57 years, Barbara; three children, Kristy (Matthew) Evans, Ken Hensler (Kaylene Robbins), and Tammy Hensler; three grandchildren, Joshua Evans, Lucas and Logan Robbins-Hensler; siblings, Lila (Ernest) Beyer, and James Hensler (Carolyn Bird); sisters-in-law, Nancy Jasinski, Joanne Bradford, Kathy (Ralph) Sharrard, and Mary Lynn (Gary) Nabozny; and many nieces, nephews, and cousins.
He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth Hensler, sister-in-law, Fran (Al) Conley; and brothers-in-law, Leo Jasinski, and Wayne Bradford.
Private family graveside services with military honors will be held at a future date, in Riverlawn Cemetery.
