Edward R Shively

Edward Russell Shively, 64, of Burtchville, died Thursday, May 28, 2026.

He was born May 9, 1962 in Port Huron.

Edward was employed at Marcotte Disposal, as a janitor at Detroit Edison and at St. Edward on the Lake Catholic Church and also as a carpet cleaner. His last, and favorite, job was as a truck driver for USA Today. Ed was strong and stubborn and had a great sense of humor. He loved spending time with his family, taking them camping up in Clear Lake, fishing in the St. Clair River and swimming out at the pond. He and Sandy also enjoyed playing BINGO.

He is survived by six children, Angela (Kris) Dickens, Jennifer (Bill) Leighton, Edward Shively Jr., Michael Shively, Rodney Shively and Sabrina (Ben) Vanderende; his partner of 39 years, Sandy Graham; six grandchildren, Adrian, Michael, Alyssa (Pat), Caleb, Toby and Joseph; three great granddaughters, Maci-May, Brooklyn and Peyton; goddaughter, Sarah; and four siblings, Sue (Gary) Goulette, Patty (Peter) Maxwell, Steve Shively and Bill (Teri) Shively. He was preceded in death by his parents, Joyce Atkinson and Royal Wayne Shively; two grandchildren, Jeffrey and Dawn; and a brother, Dave.

A memorial service will be held at 4:00 p.m. on Sunday, June 7, 2026 in the Marysville Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 2:00 p.m. Chaplain Rodney Sanderson-Smith will officiate.
