Pedro A Ruiz

Pedro A. Ruiz, 71, of Port Huron, died Friday, May 29, 2026.

He was born May 15, 1955 in Port Huron to Lucille and the late Pedro Ruiz. He married Debra L. Kidd on June 28, 1976 in St. Paul Lutheran Church, Port Huron. She preceded him in death on June 26, 2023 after 46 years of marriage.

Pedro graduated from Port Huron High School in 1973 and dedicated 46 years of service to Dunn Paper before retiring. He was an avid Detroit Tigers fan and loved spending time with his grandchildren and supporting them in all their activities.

He is survived by two sons, Dylan Ruiz and Nathan Ruiz; grandchildren, Aubrey Anna (Thaylor), Derek, Dominic and Romen Ruiz; mother, Lucille Ruiz; siblings, Sara Ruiz, Lucy Mallery, Olga (Michael) Douglass, Belinda Ruiz, Elizabeth Ruiz, Michelle (Fidel) Jimenez, Paula Ruiz (Mine Gulenc), Tanya Ruiz, Aaron Ruiz and Edward (Ansha) Ruiz; sisters-in-law, Sandy (Dan) Carr and Marilyn (Bryan) Johnson; brother-in-law, Steve Dresser; and many nieces, nephews, aunts and uncles. He was preceded in death by a special nephew, Jason Ruiz; brother-in-law, Peter Mallery; and sisters-in-law, Susan Dresser and Carol Labach.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Friday, June 5, 2026 in Karrer-Simpson Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:00 a.m. Dr. John Grenfell III will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be his family.
