Howard D Ruttan

Howard D. Ruttan passed away on Sunday, May 31, 2026 at MediLodge, St. Clair.

Howard was born November 13, 1955 in Linwood, Michigan to the late William and Mary Ruttan. He lived most of his life in Algonac. He loved cars and working on and rebuilding engines. Howard enjoyed riding the bike that he built. He considered McDonald’s his second home and the crew there his friends.

Howard is survived by his siblings, Rosemary Cuthebertson, Helen (David) Shook, and Terry Ruttan; many nieces and nephews; and special friends, Frances Smith and Winter Hill. In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his siblings, Frederick (Judy) Ruttan, Cora (James) Colson, Wuanita Soulliere, Richard (Rose) Ruttan, Bruce (Ella) Ruttan, and Christine Ruttan; brother-in-law, Bernard Cutherbertson; and sister-in-law, Edith Ruttan.

In accordance with Howard’s wishes, cremation has taken place. A memorial event will be held at a later time.
