James L Henderson Sr.

James Lavaughn Henderson Sr., 72, of Mount Clemens, went home to be with the Lord on Monday, June 1, 2026.

He was born November 28, 1953 in Port Huron to the late Louis and Bertha Henderson.

James was employed as a supervisor with Chrysler Corporation for 35 years prior to his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, shooting pool, playing cards and telling jokes. He also loved camping and spending time at his cabin up north.

He leaves to mourn his passing his wife of 24 years, Rita; five children, Jessica Banks, James Henderson Jr., Katrina Walker, Oscar Malone and Nikia Malone; many grandchildren; siblings, Janie Williams and Sylvester (Brenda) Henderson; and a host of other relatives and friends. He was preceded in death by his brothers, John, Willie D., L.D., Silas, Donald, Gene and Louis Henderson; and sisters, Gracie Edwards, Thelma Lee, Katie Brooks and Paralee Ellis.

Visitation will be held from 6-8 p.m. on Thursday, June 18, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Friday, June 19, 2026 in Restoration Christian Community Church with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Bishop Kimberly Brown will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron.
