Willliam R McCollam

William Richard McCollam, known affectionately as “Mr. Bill” to his family and friends, passed away quietly at the age of 80 in his home in Port Huron, Michigan on June 4, 2026.

He was born June 12, 1945, in Toronto, Ontario to the late Embrey and Audrey McCollam. He has been married to Julie Ryan since October 11, 2012.

Before his retirement, Bill was an esteemed accountant in the Ontario hotel industry.

Photography was his passion; spending weekends with Julie capturing historical one-room schoolhouses, train depots, and local freighters.

Being a true Canadian, it was no surprise he enjoyed playing goalie during local hockey games in his youth, as well as always cheering for the Toronto Maple Leaf’s.

Mr. Bill was very much cherished by surviving wife, Julie and her daughter, Erica (Cory) Chisholm; and in-laws, Geof (Patti) Ryan, Toodie May Ryan, Marsha (Jim) Hicks and Betsy (Joe) Vandervest.

Visitation will be held from 5-6:00 p.m. on Thursday, June 11, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home followed by a time of sharing from 6-6:30 p.m.

Memorial contributions may be made to National Railway Historical Society, Rochester Leader Dogs for the Blind, or Breakthrough T1D (formally Juvenile Diabetes Research Foundation).
