Mary L Stevens
Mary Linda Stevens, 86, of Zephyrhills, Florida, formerly of Port Huron passed away on March 14, 2026.
She was born April 24, 1939 in Brown City to the late Arnold and Isabelle Dudley.
Mary was a creative spirit who could often be found at her light table or in front of an easel. A member of the Blue Water Art Association, she was the quintessential artist and inspired her daughter, Trina, president of the Citizens for a Vibrant Community to create Art on the River. She worked as a commercial artist for Hodges & Irvine in St. Clair before the easy days of digital media producing books by hand.
Mary volunteered for the American Cancer Society for several years. After moving to Zephyrhills, she worked at Busch Gardens and enjoyed spending time around the animals. She loved animals and rescued many throughout her life. Mary was a member of the Vivians through B.P.O.E. Lodge #343. She was the producer of the follies in the 80s spearheading the event for multiple years.
She is survived by her husband, Dan Stevens; two daughters, Andrea (Ron) Hartson and Trina Avedisian; two grandchildren, Patrick (Elissa) Hartson and Audrey (Ben) MacDonald; great granddaughter, Lilah MacDonald; and several nieces, nephews and cousins. She was preceded in death by her grandson, Joshua James Avedisian; sister, Kaye Saunders; and niece, Jill Saunders.
A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Monday, August 10, 2026 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Michael Opfermann will officiate.
Memorials may be made to St. Clair County Animal Control.
