Carole A Dalzen
Carole Anne Dalzen, 82, of Gaylord, died Tuesday, July 21, 2026. She was born November 27, 1943 in Detroit to the late Fred and Florence (Dreyer) Dalzen.
Her childhood years were spent in Grosse Pointe, the family later moving to St. Clair where Carole graduated from St. Clair High School. She then attended Drake University and graduated from Michigan State University with a degree in education. Carole taught physical education and geography in the Canton area and was also the sponsor for the school ski club. Carole enjoyed going “up north” with her family and ultimately decided to move to Gaylord during her retirement years.
Carole enjoyed traveling in Europe, golfing, cross country skiing, kayaking, playing cards with her pinochle club, watching tennis, and cheering on the Spartans. A loyal fan, she had Michigan State football season tickets for many years. Carole also had a special love of animals, especially her dogs Pal, Deena, and Trudy.
She is survived by her sister, Judy (Dick) Patterson; her nieces and nephew, Karen Patterson, Jennifer (Ed) Robinson, Todd (Lindsey) Carlson, Tracy Carlson and Rebecca (Doug) Steward; four great nieces and a great nephew and godchild Adrian. She was preceded in death by her sister Florrie (Clyde) Carlson and a nephew, Cole Carlson.
Burial was in Cadillac Memorial Gardens East, Macomb County.
