Richard L "Dick" Thompson

Richard Lee “Dick” Thompson, 79, of Clyde Township, died Friday, July 31, 2026.

He was born February 24, 1947 in Clyde Township to the late Robert and Lillian Thompson. He married Dawn Neeley on May 14, 1971 in Port Huron.

Richard served in the U.S. Army during Vietnam. He was employed as a driver for FedEx for many years until his retirement in 2009. He enjoyed old cars, motorcycles and spending time with his friends and family. He was a member of Blue Water Aerie #3702 Fraternal Order of Eagles and American Legion Post #489.

He is survived by his wife of 55 years, Dawn; two sons, Richard “DJ” (Lori) Thompson Jr. and Randy Thompson; four grandchildren, Kelsey, Chloe, Olivia and Brenan Thompson; two great grandchildren, Charlie and Lainey; many nieces, nephews and cousins; and a “shit ton” of great friends. He was preceded in death by his granddaughter, Taylor Thompson; brother, Robert J. Thompson; and sister, Susan Tanski.
