Frederick M Stuewer
Frederick Merlin Stuewer, 86, of Kenockee Township, died Wednesday, August 5, 2026.
He was born September 3, 1939 in Lapeer to the late Merlin and Irene (Flowers) Stuewer. He married Donna Morrison on October 29, 1988.
Fred started working at Mueller Brass as a mail boy at the age of 19 and worked up to traveling the United States selling forgings, imports, screw machine products and rod. His 44 years included both clerical and physical jobs, union and non-union; and he made many lifelong friends along the way.
Fred was an avid outdoorsman who loved hunting, fishing and spending time at his cabin in the Upper Peninsula with family and friends. He was a longtime member of the Blue Water Sportsman Club.
He is survived by his wife of 37 years, Donna; children, Karl (Annette) Stuewer, Lori (Todd) Stank and John (Cathy) Stuewer; step-daughter, Alesia (Jim) Simons; grandchildren Eric Stuewer, Dylan (Deanna) Stank, Cassie (Evan) D’Angelo, Alex Stuewer and Amelia Stuewer; step-grandson, Brandon (Chelsea) Simons; and three great grandchildren.
In addition to his parents, he was preceded in death by his daughter, Cheryl Stuewer; step grandson, Garrett Simons; and sister and brother-in-law, Veronica and Tim Carolan.
Private family services have been held.
Burial was in Capac Lutheran Cemetery.
