Albert L Ladd

Albert Lowell “Al” Ladd, 82, of Port Huron Township, died Sunday, August 16, 2026 in McLaren- Port Huron Hospital.

He was born February 7, 1944 in Detroit to the late Lowell and Leona Ladd. He married Beth Downey on April 28, 2012 in Jackson, Michigan. She preceded him in death on November 18, 2016.

Al was employed as an Inspector for the State of Michigan. He was a scholarly person who loved studying sociology. Al enjoyed riding his Harley, watching baseball and hockey, making pottery and caring for his dogs. He was very proud of being 48-year member of AA where he helped many others in the program.

He is survived by four sons, Daniel (Christy) Ladd, Kevin Ladd (Michelle Leideker), James Ladd and Matthew Ladd; eight grandchildren, Katie Ladd, Christopher (Isis) Ladd, Andrew (Kathleen) Ladd, Julia Ladd, Sarah (Caleb) Bright, Aaron Ladd, April Ladd and Matthew Ladd; nine great grandchildren; sister, Leona King; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by his daughter-in-law, Karen; and sister, Melissa Dempsey.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 18, 2026 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 9:30 a.m.

Inurnment will be in Highland Cemetery, South Bend, Indiana.
