Albert "Keith" Thompson

Albert “Keith” Thompson, 80, of Marysville, died Sunday, September 13, 2026.

He was born December 24, 1945 in Indianapolis, Indiana to the late Albert and Joyce Thompson. He met Bonnie Lou Beattie when they were teens at choir practice, and they were married on July 11, 1970 in Marine City United Methodist Church.

Keith graduated from Farmington High School in 1964 and proudly served in the U.S. Army during the Vietnam War as an E-4 Specialist earning a purple heart. After returning home, Keith graduated from Eastern Michigan University in 1972. Keith did materials control work for many years before retiring at the age of 66.

A man of strong faith, Keith had been a member of Hillside Wesleyan Church since 2002, where he sang in the church choir and always supported mission work. When Keith’s boys were young, he was an active father coaching T-ball and Little League and serving as an assistant leader for the Boy Scouts.

Keith was an avid Detroit sports fan and enjoyed watching Marysville football and volleyball. In his spare time, he liked working on crossword puzzles and Sudoku and watching Wheel of Fortune and Jeopardy! Above all, Keith cherished his family and treasured the time he spent with his grandchildren.

He is survived by his wife of 56 years, Bonnie; three sons, Sean (Lora), Matthew (Gillian) and Bradley (Diana) Thompson; four grandchildren, Samantha, Alex, Kevin and Lucas; brother, Fred Thompson; nephew, Mark and niece, Dara.

A memorial service will be held at 11:00 a.m. Saturday, September 19, 2026 in Hillside Wesleyan Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. Pastor Nate Neihof will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodlawn Cemetery, Marine City at a later date.

Memorial contributions may be made to Hillside Wesleyan Church for foreign missions.
