Paul A Bardon

Paul Anthony Bardon, 75, of Burtchville, Michigan, passed away on Thursday, September 24, 2026.

He was born on January 23, 1951, in Mitchell, South Dakota to the late Eldred (Smiley) and Evelyn Bardon. Paul graduated from Mitchell High School in 1969. In his early years, he worked at Scotties Hamburger joint where the burgers were 19 cents and the fries were 15 cents. He was known to drag Mitchell’s main street in his red and white 55 Chevy. Paul attended a two-year vocational technical college where he received a diploma in the Automotive- Diesel Mechanics II course in Mitchell South Dakota in May, 1971. Following that accreditation, he moved to Colorado in 1971, where he proudly served in the U.S. National Guard for six years, he worked as a technician at the Ball Metal Container plant in Golden for 28 years. It was during his first marriage that his son, Chad, was born in Golden, Colorado.

In 1982, Paul met his future wife, Susan “Sue” Mix, while visiting his sister Patricia “Trisha” in Wisconsin. Soon after Sue moved to Colorado, where they were then married on May 14, 1983 in First Baptist Church in Golden, Colorado. In 2000, Paul relocated to Burtchville, Michigan, with Sue and their two daughters, Kristine and Whitney. Paul's lifelong devotion to his special needs daughters, Kristine and Whitney, kept him fully dedicated to their daily care. As a loving father and husband, he was steadfast in providing security, support, and attentive care for his family.

A lifelong car enthusiast, Paul went on to work at US Manufacturing in Warren, Michigan, retiring at the age of 67. He loved the open road, whether driving cross-country to visit family in his younger years or taking road trips throughout the Thumb of Michigan during retirement. He also cherished his daily routine hanging out, helping with cars, and sharing stories with friends at Port Huron Radiator. A man of strong faith, Paul had been a member of Croswell Wesleyan Church.

Paul is survived by his wife of 43 years, Sue; his son, Chad; his daughters, Kristine and Whitney; his brother, Melvin (Karen) Bardon; and his sisters, the late Judi (Doug) Furey, Pauline (Greg) Trent, and Patricia (Ron) Johnson.

A small family and friends memorial service will be held on October 8, 2026, at Croswell Wesleyan Church, officiated by Pastor, Bill Count. A gathering to remember will follow in the church event space. Burial will take place at Lakeport Cemetery.
