Salvalia A Rivers

November 05, 1940 to September 29, 2026

Savalia Artemesia Kidd Rivers, 85, of Port Huron went home to be with the Lord Tuesday September 29, 2026.

She was born on November 5, 1940, to the late Charles and Ruby Kidd. On October 1, 1960, she married the love of her life, Maxie Ray Rivers Sr. Together, they built a loving family and a life filled with memories that will be cherished forever.

Savalia devoted 42 years of her life to Marwood Manor, where she cared for and served others with compassion and dedication before retiring. She took great pride in being a foster grandmother, opening her heart to children and sharing with them the same love, guidance, and kindness she gave so freely to her own family.

Savalia’s faith was an important part of her life. She also found joy in watching her favorite television shows, completing crossword puzzles, and listening to music. She loved to sing and dance along, bringing warmth and happiness wherever she went. Her joyful spirit, playful nature, and generous heart made her a treasured presence in the lives of all who knew her.

Savalia was preceded in death by her beloved husband, Maxie Ray Rivers Sr.; her son, Maxie Ray Rivers Jr.; and many of her beloved brothers and sisters.

She leaves to cherish her memory her children, Keith (Koralee) Rivers, Brian (Kathy) Rivers, Rachel (Perry) Johnson, and Rose (Thomas) Allen; a host of grandchildren and great-grandchildren; her siblings, Betty “Patty” McFadden and William “Billy” Kidd; and a host of nieces, nephews, extended family, and cherished family by love.

Savalia enjoyed all of her grandchildren through a special bond. During her final months, Shea, while caring for her, brought out a playful and joyful side of her grandmother, that the family will aways remember.

Savalia leaves behind a beautiful legacy of faith, family, service, compassion, and joy. Her life touched countless people, and the love she shared will continue through everyone who was blessed to know her.

During her final days, Savalia was surrounded by her family and the people who loved her most. They gathered around her with prayers, laughter, tender moments, and loving reminders of the profound impact she had on their lives.

We will miss you more than words can express, but we hold firmly to our faith and the promise that this is not goodbye-only until we meet again.

Rest in heaven, our beloved Savalia. You will always be loved, forever remembered, and held close in our hearts.
