Oliver Bonner

Oliver "Mr. Boogie" Bonner, 85, of Port Huron, died Saturday, August 4, 2012.

He was born November 17, 1926 in Collierville, Tennessee to the late Oliver and Julie Bonner.

Mr. Bonner retired from the New Haven Foundry. When he was younger, he traveled across the United States working as a pipe layer. He loved to sing and as a young man he sang tenor in a spiritual quartet.

He is survived by his wife, Katie; children, Robert Bonner, Mattie Brown, Antoinette (Todd) McMillan, Madeline (Shango) Harvey, James Bonner and Edward Stigger; many grandchildren; great grandchildren; nieces and nephews including a special niece, Maggie White.

He was preceded in death by two brothers, Charlie Bonner and Vance Bonner; and three sisters, Ruth Walls, Frances L. Bonner and Roxie Blanchard.

Funeral services were held at 1:30 p.m. on Saturday, August 11, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 12:00 noon.
