Betty Schlicht

Betty Ruth Schlicht, 82, of Port Huron, died Saturday, August 25, 2012 in Port Huron Hospital after a short illness.

She was born February 2, 1930 in Port Huron to the late Ernest and Frieda Schlicht.

Betty attended Trinity Lutheran School and graduated from Port Huron High School in 1948. She started her employment career at Sperry's and worked at Michigan National Bank in Port Huron and Greyhound Bus in Detroit before settling in at J.C. Penny back in Port Huron until her retirement. She was a lifetime member of Trinity Lutheran Church, the Ladies Aide and was involved in several bible study groups. She was an avid walker and loved teddy bears.

She is survived by her sister, Barbara Ann Schommer; and two nephews, Mark (Susan) Thompson and Dale Thompson; great niece, Jennifer Lynn Thompson; three great nephews, Paul, Adam and John Thompson; a great great niece, Saskia Eipperle; her aunt, June Krenke; many cousins including a special cousin, Joan Tetreau; and special friend, Mary Conklin.

She was preceded in death by a brother-in-law, Eugene Schommer, nephew, Paul E. Thompson and great nephew, Paul A. Thompson.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 10:00 a.m. on Wednesday, August 29, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Stephen Schilke of Trinity Lutheran Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Mark and Jennifer Thompson, Alan McWha and Adam Tate.

Memorials may be made to Trinity Lutheran Church.
