Bernard Hillock

Bernard J. “Bernie” Hillock, 82, of Marysville, died Saturday, September 22, 2012 at home surrounded by his family.

He was born March 17, 1930 in Burtchville Township to the late Isaac and Berneace Hillock. He married Mary Lou Lindsay on January 27, 1951 in Marysville.

Mr. Hillock retired as a Process Engineer with Ford Motor Company. He served his Country in the U.S. Navy. Bernie enjoyed fishing, golfing, playing cards and games. He was a former little league coach and volunteered for 10 years at the Outback Senior Golf Tournament in Lutz, Florida. He was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church where he served as a Deacon and Treasurer and was a member of the Men's Club. During his retirement years, he worked at the Marysville Golf Course. He will be dearly missed, but his legacy will live on through all his family.

He is survived by his wife, Mary Lou; three children, Linda (Doug) Thomas, Rick (Carole) Hillock, and Bernie (Deborah) Hillock Jr.; nine grandchildren; ten great grandchildren; two sisters, Ida Bonney and Pat (Dick) Moses; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-9 p.m. Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, September 26, 2012 in Pilgrim Lutheran Church. The Reverend John W. Hitzeroth will officiate. Military honors will be provided by the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.

Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Columbarium. Memorials may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church or Blue Water Hospice.
