Violet M Jacobs
Violet Marie Jacobs, 87, of Port Huron, died Saturday, October 6, 2012.
She was born May 28, 1925 in Harbor Beach to the late Martin and Marie Konkel. She married LeRoy Jacobs on September 30, 1942 in Bad Axe. He died June 12, 1997.
Mrs. Jacobs enjoyed Friday night dessert nights with her children, feeding her squirrels and stray cats, going to the casino and garage sales, but most of all she cherished her time with all her family. She was a member of St. Joseph Catholic Church.
She is survived by seven daughters, Lucille (Julius) Lefevere, Marcella Jacobs-Smith, Mary Devroy, Cheryl (Les) Diepenhorst, Jeanne (William "Butch") Ginzel, Roberta (Doug) Poe and Frances Jacobs; five sons, Martin (Ann) Jacobs, William (Sherri) Jacobs, Leonard (Judy) Jacobs, Ronald (Robin) Jacobs and Richard Jacobs; and daughter-in-law, Judy Jacobs; 26 grandchildren; many great grandchildren and great great grandchildren; and two nieces, Cathy (Charles) Wolfe and Loretta (Mark) Elliott.
She was preceded in death by two sons, David and James Jacobs; daughter-in-law, Carol Jacobs; sons-in-law, Gerold Devroy and F.J. Smith; brothers, Raymond and James; sister, Geri; brother-in-law, Russel Jacobs; and sister-in-law, Jenni Jacobs.
Visitation will be 2-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Mrs. Jacobs will lie in state in St, Joseph Catholic Church on Wednesday, October 10, 2012 from 9:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Brian Cokonougher will officiate.
Burial will be in Mt. Hope Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Andrew Jacobs, Timothy Jacobs, Martin Donaldson, Walter Woods Jr., Michael Ginzel, Robert Donaldson, Anthony Jacobs and Edward Hill. Honorary pallbearers will be Christopher Jacobs, Paul Jacobs, Matthew Jacobs, Gerald Ginzel and Richard "Jake" Jacobs Jr.
Memorials may be made to Blue Water Hospice House/Patient Care.
