George H Horner

George Harmon "Butch" Horner, 76, passed away on Tuesday, November 6, 2012 after a short illness.
He was born June 28, 1936 in Burton, West Virginia to the late Benjamin Levi and Irene (Meredith) Horner.
George was a 1955 graduate of Marysville High School and a lifelong Marysville resident. He served in the United States Marine Corps from 1955-1959 as an aviation mechanic. He retired from Women's Life in 2006 and was formerly employed by Morton Salt Co. until its closing in 1986. George enjoyed baseball, country music, and laughter. He was an honest, generous man with much integrity.
He is survived by two daughters, Becky (Roy) Langolf of Ortonville and Nancy Blake of Mesa, Arizona; two sons, Ben (Lori) Horner of Marysville and Joel (Rita) Horner of Marysville; and nine grandchildren, Lindsay and Evan Langolf, Megan and Stephanie Blake, Brendan and Caleb Horner, and Andy, Travis, and Shannon Frendt.
Visitation will be from 3-5 & 7-9 p.m. Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 12:00 noon on Friday, November 9, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home. Dr. James Bolin of Bethany Baptist Church of Waterford will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Memorials may be made to the American Red Cross for Hurricane Sandy relief.
The family would like to send a special thanks to the wonderful and caring staff at Wadham's Creek and Heartland Hospice for their compassionate and loving care during George's illness.
