Ronald G MacDonald
Ronald George MacDonald, 76, of Marysville died Friday, November 9, 2012 at the Cleveland Clinic in Ohio surrounded by his family.
He was born July 19, 1936 in Marysville to the late Hugh and Wilma MacDonald. He married Shirley Teets on April 28, 1956 in Port Huron.
Mr. MacDonald retired from the City of Marysville Fire Department and was a Past President of the Firefighters Union. He enjoyed golf, woodworking and country music. He could play many different instruments including the banjo and loved to build toy chests and hope chests out of wood for his grandchildren.
He is survived by his beloved wife of 56 years, Shirley; three daughters, Debbie (Tony) Elliott, Dawn (Jerry) Varty and DeAnn (Dave) Watson; seven grandchildren, Shaylyn (Tim) Sharrow, Nicole (Jason) Kovach, Stacey and Kelly Varty, David (Nichole) Watson, Derick and Nick Watson; six great grandchildren, Hailey and Luke Sharrow, Jaden, Jordan and Jacey Kovach and Cayden Watson; two sisters, Carol Zaremba and Betty Jo Balinski; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by two sisters, Jackie Ward and Beverly Sullivan.
Visitation will be 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. on Tuesday in the Marysville Funeral Home followed by a Memorial service at 8:00 p.m. Pastor Gene Watson will officiate.
Inurnment will be in the Riverlawn Cemetery Columbarium. Memorials may be made to the Pulmonary Fibrosis Foundation.
