Corinne L Sampeer

Corinne L. "Corky" Sampeer, 87, of Marysville, died Friday, November 23, 2012. She was born April 7, 1925 in Port Huron to the late Arthur Ernest and Mildred Blanche Kapanke. She married her childhood sweetheart, Albert Sampeer, on April 30, 1948 and they were married 50 years. He died January 26, 1999. Mrs. Sampeer was employed with Women's Life Insurance Society for many years and was a paraprofessional for Port Huron Area Schools at Grant Elementary. She was active at First Presbyterian Church, having served as Elder, Deacon, Treasurer and Sunday School teacher and as a member of the prayer group and Sarah circle. During World War II, she worked for United Airlines in Chicago in communications. She was a ham radio operator and enjoyed billiards, crafts, traveling in her motor home and genealogy. She is survived by two daughters, Rosalyn (Brinton) Butler of Commerce Township and Annette Marie Sampeer of Marysville; a son, Richard H. (Colleen) Sampeer of Avoca; six grandchildren, Todd & Mark Butler, Stephanie & Tyler Pond, Jeff (Brooke) Sampeer and Kelly (Krett) Kujat; two great grandchildren, Quinn and Kai; a sister, Joyce E. (J. Phillip) Hurford of Greenbush; a niece, Susan Hurford; and a nephew, Tom (Billie Jo) Hurford. Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Funeral services will be held at 10:30 a.m. Monday, November 26, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend Bre Harmon will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Todd and Mark Butler, Jeff Sampeer, Tyler Pond, Nick Farley and Brinton Butler. Memorial contributions may be made to First Presbyterian Church.
