Donald Edwin Adams, 77, of Marysville, died Saturday, November 24, 2012.
He was born August 10, 1935 in Detroit to the late Morgan and Hilda Adams. He married Irene A. Ghesquiere on November 29, 1958 in St. Clair Shores.
Don graduated from Lakeshore High School in 1953 and served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean Conflict. He worked as a firefighter with the City of East Pointe for over 25 years until his retirement in 1988.
He is survived by his wife of nearly 54 years, Irene; three sons, John (Adrienne) Adams, Michael (Donna) Adams, and Peter (Jill) Adams; a daughter, Eileen (Randy) Moss; five grandchildren; two great grandsons; two sisters-in-law, Sr. Eileen Ghesquiere, O.S.F. and Sr. Kateri Ghesquiere, C.S.J.; and many nieces and nephews.
He was preceded in death by a brother, Jack T. Adams.
Don will lie in state from 12:30 p.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 2:00 p.m. on Friday, November 30, 2012 in St. Christopher Catholic Church. Reverend Arthur Baranowski will officiate. Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to Ray-John Share Care of Sarnia, Inc., 1923 Park, Bright’s Grove, Ontario, NON 1CO.
