Robert John Goniwicha, 85, of Kimball Township, died Tuesday, December 11, 2012.

He was born November 26, 1927 in Detroit to the late Peter and Mary (Smarch) Goniwicha. He married Lois E. Puddock on June 25, 1949.

Mr. Goniwicha retired in 1992 after 44 years in the trucking and stone yard industry. He was employed by Fosters, Brownies & Winkworth Transit. He served in the Merchant Marines during World War II. He loved the dogs he had over the years, and enjoyed camping, spending winters in Florida and Polka music.

He is survived by his wife of over 60 years, Lois; three sons, Don Goniwicha, Stephen Goniwicha, and Randy (Geri) Goniwicha; his grandchildren, Tiffani (Jeff) Dysinger, Christina Goniwicha, Brian Goniwicha, Don Goniwicha Jr., Shannon (Tim) Fox, Kevin Goniwicha, and Dave Jaquette; his great grandchildren, Chloe and Jake Dysinger, Alex Donaley; Billy & Sammy Fox; his wife’s siblings, Mel Puddock, Howard (Mary Jo) Puddock and Mrs. Fred (Cora) Brougham; and many nieces, nephews and cousins.

Visitation will be from 4-8 p.m. on Thursday in the Marysville Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10 a.m. on Friday, December 14, 2012 in the Marysville Funeral Home. The Reverend Greg Deters will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.

Memorials may be made to the American Cancer Society.
