Ivah M Collins

Ivah Marion Collins, 97, of Port Huron Township, died Saturday, December 15, 2012.

She was born August 22, 1915 in Greenwood Township to the late Charles and Cora Jane "Jennie" Jackson. She lived for many years and attended school in Centerline, but returned to the family farm and graduated from Yale High School in 1933. Ivah was married on her 20th birthday to Ray C. Collins on August 22, 1935 in Jeddo and they moved to Port Huron in 1936 where they have resided ever since.

Ivah and Ray owned and operated Collin's Hardware in Port Huron Township during the 40's & 50's. She was also employed at Mueller Brass Company in the administrative offices until her retirement in 1977. She was a member and Past Worthy Matron of Mystic Chapter # 58 O.E. S. and a member of Community of Christ, Wadhams Grove Branch.

Mrs. Collins is survived by her children, Beverly (Gordon) Strieter and Robert (Kay) Collins; her grandchildren, Larry (Joyce) Strieter, Gary (Sarah) Strieter, Mark Strieter, Lisa (Paul) Round, William (Cheryl) Collins and Pamela (Michael) Kent; her great grandchildren, Apryl, Emily, Ian and Ariana Strieter, Shelby (Jeremy) Swoboda, Justin and Joshua Round; and several nieces and nephews along with their families. She is also survived by a special group of caregivers, Nicole, Barb, Clintina, Mary, Connie and Judy. She was preceded in death by her husband of 67 years, Ray; brother, Robert Jackson; sister Velma White; and grandson, Daniel Collins.

Visitation will be 3-5 and 7-9 p.m. Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. An Eastern Star service will be held at 7:00 p.m.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday, December 19, 2012 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. Elder David Giles will officiate.

Burial will be in Woodland Cemetery. Her grandchildren will serve as pallbearers.

Memorials may be made to the Church or Cornell-Marysville Chapter #93 O.E.S.
