Floyd F McClintock
April 23rd, 1934 to December 18th, 2012
Floyd Frederick "Bud" McClintock, 78, of Capac passed away peacefully on December 18, 2012 at Port Huron Hospital, after a short illness. Bud was born on April 23, 1934 in Charlotte, Michigan. He was preceded in death by his father Frederick Earnest and mother Mary A. McClintock, and mother of his children Mary E.A. (Kelsey) McClintock.
He graduated from Detroit Southeastern High School, attended Northwestern Michigan College, and was Honorably Discharged from the United States Navy. He was a dedicated Free and Accepted Mason. He was a prior owner of the Camelot Motel in Elk Rapids. He was a past President of the Elk Rapids Chamber of Commerce, and instrumental in the Elk Rapids Rescue Squad. He was a Carpenter by trade and later worked as a site superintendent for a firm that constructed low income and senior housing complexes until his retirement. He enjoyed hunting, fishing, and watching old Western movies with his dog Sugar at his side.
Bud is survived by his wife Shirley Ann McClintock (Kocis-Metzer), sister Joanne McClintock of San Diego, California; sister Dorma Kuise of Tucson, Arizona; sister Dorain Palmer of Toledo, Ohio; daughters Valencia McClintock (Rick) Banwell of Elk Rapids and Vanessa McClintock (Vincent) Profita of Pembroke Pines, Florida; 4 grandchildren and 5 great-grandchildren: step-sons Stephen (Kim) of DeWitt, Brian of New Baltimore, and Scott (Michelle DeMeyer) Metzer of Kenockee, 8 grandchildren, and 2 great-grandchildren.
A memorial service will be held honoring Bud at a later date at the convenience of the family. In lieu of flowers, memorial contributions may be made to either the Elk Rapids Masonic Lodge #275, In Memory of Bud McClintock, PO Box 574, Elk Rapids, Michigan, 49629 or Marwood Nursing and Rehab, Attention: Community Relations Department, 1300 Beard St., Port Huron, Michigan, 48060. The Pollock-Randall Funeral Home is assisting the family with arrangements.
