Betty Ann Henschel, 78, of Marysville, died Tuesday, January 22, 2013.
She was born October 16, 1934 in Troy, New York to the late Alexander and Julia Zirpolo. She married Ralph Henschel on March 5, 1960 in Port Huron.
Mrs. Henschel was employed with Prestolite Wire for 30 years. She was a member of Pilgrim Lutheran Church. She loved going to the casino, reading and doing crafts. Her grandchildren were her pride and joy.
She is survived by her husband and best friend of 53 years, Ralph; two children, Anita (Daniel) Varty and Jeffrey (Lucy) Henschel; three grandchildren, Kevin, David and Michael Varty; several nieces and nephews, including a special niece and nephew, Karan Vamakias and Butch Zirpolo; and several great nieces, great nephews and cousins.
She was preceded in death by two brothers, Glen and Alex Zirpolo.
Visitation will be 4-8 p.m. Saturday in the Marysville Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 1 p.m. Sunday in the Marysville Funeral Home with a luncheon to follow. The Reverend Max Amstutz will officiate.
Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery. Pallbearers will be Kevin, David and Michael Varty, Butch Zirpolo, Robert Hand and Albert Randolph.
Memorial contributions may be made to Pilgrim Lutheran Church.
