Frank O'Connor
Frank Joseph O'Connor, 80, of Kimball, died Thursday, January 31, 2013.
He was born August 23, 1932 in Detroit to the late Francis and Marcella O'Connor. He married Patricia A. Gallagher on June 11, 1955 in Detroit.
Mr. O'Connor was a machine designer for the automotive industry, working at Dollar Design for many years and owning his own company, Hartford Design. He served in the U.S. Army during the Korean War and was a member of St. Stephen Catholic Church.
He is survived by his wife, Patricia; four daughters, Kathleen (John) O'Connor Savage, Patricia Sawicki, Sharon (Robert) Glowczewski and Mary (Patrick) Herbert; a son, John (Linde) O'Connor; 19 grandchildren; six great grandchildren; a sister, Marcella "Sally" Vance; two brothers, James (Judy) O'Connor and Thomas Flum; and several nieces and nephews.
Visitation will be 2-6 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Mr. O'Connor will lie in state from 10:30 a.m. until the time of the Funeral Mass at 11 a.m. on Monday, February 4, 2013 in St. Stephen Catholic Church. The Reverend Brian Cokonougher will officiate.
Military honors will be conducted under the auspices of the St. Clair County Allied Veterans Council.
Burial will be in Great Lakes National Cemetery, Holly. Pallbearers will be his son, John, his dear friend, Jeff Kraus, and his grandsons.
Memorial contributions may be made to St. Stephen Catholic Church.
