Clayton Smith

Clayton D. Smith, 82, of Marysville died Sunday, February 10, 2013 in the Blue Water Hospice Home surrounded by family after a short illness.
He was born May 8, 1930 in Port Huron. He married Betty Jo Nestle on June 30, 1951 in Marysville.
Mr. Smith was a retired machinist. He served with the National Guard during the Korean War. He was Past Worshipful Master of Marysville Lodge #498 F. & A.M., past president of the Marysville American Legion senior Euchre Club, and a lifetime member of the Good Sam Camping Club. He was a crossing guard at Gardens School and drove for the Council on Aging for several years. He attended Marysville United Methodist Church.
He is survived by his wife, Betty; three daughters, Vicky (Steve) Path, Jody (Scott) Mahnke and Lori (Mike) Hering, all of Marysville; a son, Don Smith of Tempe, Arizona; five grandchildren, Michael (Margaret) Path, Gary (Rhonda) Path, Roxanne Smith, Katelyn Hering and Jason Mahnke; a great grandson, Alex Path; a sister, Helen Miller of Port Huron; and several nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a son, David in 1963.
A family burial service was held in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
