Warren A Lamb

February 20th, 1921 to April 13th, 2013
Warren A. Lamb, 92, of Fort Gratiot, went home to be with the Lord, Saturday, April 13, 2013.

He was born February 20, 1921 in Wales Township to the late Harold and Margaret Lamb and was a lifelong area resident. He married Dorothy Shephard on October 31, 1942 in Brown City.

Mr. Lamb was employed for 27 years with Peerless Cement Company and retired from Chrysler Corporation after 10 years of service. He was a long time member of Griswold Street Baptist Church. He was a mentor to many young men as a Boy Scout Leader and manager of Little League and Babe Ruth baseball. Warren was a lifelong hunter and outdoorsman, an award winning wood carver, a bird bander for the U.S. Fish & Wildlife Service for 39 years, Past President of the Audubon Society and will be remembered by his family and the community for sharing his love of nature with all of them.

He is survived by his wife of 70 years, Dorothy; six children, Alan (Cathie) Lamb, Neil (Susan) Lamb, Cheryl (Larry) McDaid, Sonia Lasher, Kevin (Jo Ann) Lamb and Karen (James) Lamb-Gibson; 13 grandchildren; many great grandchildren; an adopted sister, Marie (Richard) Buck; brother-in-law, Maynard North and many nieces and nephews. He was preceded in death by a brother, Richard Lamb and a sister, Lois North.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. on Tuesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home. The Reverend James Petit of Griswold Street Baptist Church will officiate.

Burial will be in Lambs Cemetery, Wales Township where Warren will be the fifth generation of the Lamb family to be buried there. Pallbearers will be Alan, Neil and Kevin Lamb, Jason McCoy and Jeff Carpenter.
