Charles F Dake

Charles F. Dake, 87, of Port Huron, went home to be with the Lord on April 22, 2013.

He was born on November 8, 1925 in Port Huron, Michigan to Colborne and Ethel Dake. Charles was raised by his mother and loving step-father, Maurice Barker. Charles married Doris Russel in 1943 and they celebrated 67 years of marriage before she passed away in 2010. He retired from Cadillac Overall Company when he was 59. After retiring, he and his late wife Doris moved to Punta Gorda, Florida. They returned to Port Huron in 1999.

Charles served in the U.S. Navy in the South Pacific during World War II. He was an avid sports fan and especially enjoyed the Detroit Tigers and the Detroit Red Wings.

He is survived by his daughters, Nancy (Terry) Coleman and Dee (Bill) Brush; and his grandchildren, Bryan (Susan) Coleman, Brad (Valrie) Coleman, Kendra (Mark) Brandt, Bill (Sarah) Brush, Jody Brush (Andy) Karlovich, and Kevin Brush. Charles is also survived by eleven great-grandchildren; his sister, Dee Teeple; and sisters-in-law, Mary Lou (Garry) Archer and Joyce Russel. Preceding him in death was his brother, Russ Dake.

Visiting hours will be 2-4 and 6-8 p.m. on Friday, April 26, 2013 and one hour prior to the service Saturday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 10:00 a.m. on Saturday, April 27, 2013 in Pollock Randall Funeral Home

Burial will be in Elk Township Cemetery.

In lieu of flowers, donations made be made to Port Huron Council on Aging or Blue Water Hospice.
