Ruth Ann Reid, 82, of Burtchville, died Saturday, April 27, 2013 at home after a long illness.
She was born October 7, 1930 in Garfield, New Jersey to the late Michael and Ann Lazorchak. She married Loren Reid on May 2, 1954 in Paramas, New Jersey.
Ruth Ann was a country music entertainer. She traveled around the world performing with her sister as the "Corkran Sisters". She even performed in Carnegie Hall. It was while she was with the U.S.O. that she met the airman that would become her husband.
She is survived by her husband of nearly 59 years, Loren; two sons, Bruce Reid of Royal Oak and Wayne (Jackie) Reid of New Jersey; two grandchildren, Emily and Corey Reid; and 1 great granddaughter. She was preceded in death by three sisters, Margie, Dottie and Evelyn.
A memorial service will be held at 12:30 p.m. on Wednesday, May 1, 2013 in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home with visitation beginning at 11:00 a.m. Elder Roy E. McAllister will officiate.
Memorials may be made to the Blue Water Humane Society or the Restored
