Martha V Olds

Martha Vay Olds, 81, of Fort Gratiot, died Monday, June 24, 2013.

She was born February 15, 1932 in Old Austin, Arkansas to the late Jesse and Ruth Brown. She was happily married to her beloved husband, Charlie Louis Olds, for 49 years. He died February 3, 2000.

Mrs. Olds worked in the printing office of the Southern Baptist State Convention for 20 years, retiring in the early 90's. She was a longtime member of Bethel Baptist Church in Roseville and then First Baptist Church since moving to Port Huron 15 years ago. She taught Sunday School and sang in the choir. Mrs. Olds enjoyed travel and adored her grandchildren and great grandchildren.

She is survived by two daughters, Debra (Kirk) Lavigne of Fort Gratiot and Diana (Dennis) Franchini of Broken Arrow, Oklahoma; a son, Larry Joseph Olds of Warren; four grandchildren, Rebecca (Jacob) Kotranza of Lexington, Joshua (Nicole) Lavigne and Leah Lavigne of Cleveland, Tennessee and Michelle Franchini (Jesse Ulrich) of Boston, Massachusetts; great grandchildren, Zachary Lavigne, Olivia Kotranza, Liam Lavigne and two baby girls on the way; and several nieces and nephews.

Visitation will be 5-8 p.m. Friday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, 912 Lapeer Ave., Port Huron.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Saturday, June 29, 2013 in Bethel Baptist Church, 25601 Gratiot Ave., Roseville, with visitation beginning at 10:30 a.m. Pastor Dave Swartz will officiate.

Committal services will be at 1 p.m. Saturday in Christian Memorial Cemetery, Rochester, with a luncheon following.
