Rolanda M May

Rolanda Marie May, 67, of Port Huron, died Friday, July 19, 2013 after a long courageous battle with cancer. She was born December 26, 1945 in Belgium and was the daughter of the late Cyril and Marie Vanpoelvoorde. She married Walter May on May 24, 1967 in Oakland County. Rolanda was a graduate of Almont High School and attended Port Huron Business College. She was a member of Marysville United Methodist Church. She was a "snowbird," spending each winter with her husband at their home in Lakeland, Florida. Rolanda enjoyed gardening, playing cards with friends, and spending time with her family, especially her four granddaughters. She is survived by her husband of 46 years, Walter; two sons and daughters-in-law, Robert & Amy and Michael & Michelle; four granddaughters, Lauren, Payton, Ashley and Olivia; and a sister, Marie (Ken) Hughes. Visitation will be 4-8 pm Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home. Funeral services will be 11 am Tuesday, July 23, 2013 in Marysville United Methodist Church. Reverend Barbara E. Welbaum will officiate. Memorial contributions may be made to Blue Water Hospice or the Marysville United Methodist Church.
