Gerald Rich

Gerald E. Rich, 84, of Lakeport died July 25, 2013.

He was born November 10, 1928 in Port Huron to the late Orville and Irene Rich.

Gerald married Ellen G. Mix on June 11, 1955 in Trinity Lutheran Church, Port Huron. He served in the U.S. Navy during the Korean War from 1948-1952. He belonged to the Moose Lodge #58, American Legion Post 8 and VFW Post 796. He loved hunting, camping, working in the yard and splitting wood.

He is survived by his wife of 58 years, Ellen; five sons, David (Leslie) of Santa Fe, New Mexico, Darrin (Nancy) of Kimball, Dale (Elizabeth) of Charlevoix, Daniel (Tracy) of Traverse City, and Dennis (Patricia) of Calumet; thirteen grandchildren and three great grandchildren. Gerald was preceded in death by his sisters, Irma and Delores; brothers, Melvin and Marvin; grandson, Ryan; and granddaughter, Jennifer.

Private graveside services with Military Honors will be held at Burtchville Township Cemetery.
