Ardith M Smith

Ardith Marie Smith, 95, of Port Huron, died Wednesday, August 7, 2013.

She was born November 23, 1917 in Grand Rapids to the late Paul and Lena McCrum. She married Alex Smith on January 4, 1948 in Port Huron. Alex and Ardith shared a “marriage made in Heaven” for over 51 years until his death on June 6, 1999.

Mrs. Smith was a longtime member of St. Paul Lutheran Church. She loved spending time at the family cottage in Grand Haven and enjoyed golfing (which she did regularly until she was 91 years old), shopping, and eating lots of chocolate. Ardith will be remembered for her kindness and friendly nature.

She is survived by two daughters, Jacqueline (Art) Evans of Denver, Colorado and Carole Sue Ayers and her friend, Richard Boggeman, of Chula Vista, California; a granddaughter, Tamara (Brad) Castillo; two great grandsons, Cole Maverick Castillo and Sawyer Cash Castillo; and several nieces, nephews, cousins and dear friends.

Visitation will be 2-4 & 7-9 p.m. Sunday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.

Funeral services will be held at 11 a.m. on Monday, August 12, 2013 in St. Paul Lutheran Church. Pastor Bill Moldwin will officiate.

Burial will be in Riverlawn Cemetery, Marysville.
