William A McComber

William A. “Mac” McComber, 94, of Kimball Township, went home to be with the Lord on Friday, August 9, 2013.

He was born May 16, 1919 in Pompeii, Michigan to the late William and Eithel McComber. He married Eunice V. Davis on August 27, 1940 in Mt. Pleasant. She died November 13, 2002.

Mr. McComber was an Insurance Agent with Northwestern Mutual Life Insurance Company for 64 years. He was a graduate of Central Michigan University, was a 51 year member of First Baptist Church of Marysville and for the past 8 years faithfully served the St. Clair County Gideon Camp as Church Assignment Chairman. Even at the age of 94, Mac would still stop in the office every day to oversee his clients’ accounts and could still astound people with his ability to multiply large numbers in the head.

He is survived by his two sons, Charles (Marilyn) McComber and Rodney (Lynda) McComber; three grandchildren, Sherry (David Butt) Suddeth, Joel McComber and Sarah (Mark) Mengoni; 7 great grandchildren and one great great granddaughter; several nieces and nephews; and good friend, Esther Weckesser. He was preceded in death by his brother, Kenneth, and two half brothers, Glenn and Gaylord.

Visitation will be from 2-8 p.m. on Monday in the Marysville Funeral Home, 1200 Michigan Ave., Marysville, MI 48040.

Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. on Tuesday, August 13, 2013 in First Baptist Church of Marysville, 1234 6th St, Marysville, MI 48040. The Reverend Dallas Berry will officiate.

Burial will be in Sunset Memorial Gardens Cemetery.
