Dorothy M Albert
Dorothy M. “Dottie” Albert, 83, of Port Huron Township, went home to be with the Lord, on Sunday, August 11, 2013.
She was born November 19, 1929 in Trenton to the late Ernest and Marion Hobday. She married Victor “Vic” Albert on January 21, 1951 in Port Huron.
Dottie and her husband, Vic, worked together for many years at Kerr-Albert Office Supply. She was a longtime member of Colonial Woods Missionary Church and was secretary for Reverend Stan Liecthy for 12 of those years. She enjoyed shopping, watching the Detroit Tigers and Red Wings, taking trips to Frankenmuth, wintering in Florida, and collecting bears.
She is survived by her husband of 62 years, Victor; three children, Vickie (Michael Horan) Albert, Ernest (Judith) Albert, and Karla (D. Scott) Beedon; eleven grandchildren, Petty Officer 2nd Class Courtney Carmichael, US Navy, April (Albert) Dustan, Autumn (Brian) Boswell, Ashley and Abigail Horan, Dr. Scott Albert and Dr. Steven Albert, and Daniel, McKenna, Madison, and Megan Beedon; four great grandchildren, Gavin and Caden Dustan and Elijah and Elizabeth Boswell; a sister, Vivian White; several nieces, nephews, and cousins; and her beloved dog, Benji.
Visitation will be from 2-4 & 6-8 p.m. Wednesday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home.
Funeral services will be held at 11:00 a.m. on Thursday, August 15, 2013 in Colonial Woods Missionary Church with visitation beginning at 10:00 a.m. The Reverend Phil Whetstone and the Reverend Stan Liechty will officiate.
Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery, Port Huron. Pallbearers will be Harold and Alex Langolf, Daniel Beedon, Francis Bedy, Dr. Steven Albert and Dr. Scott Albert. Honorary pallbearers will be Sherwood Palmateer, Donald Winningham, Gerald Burde, and Robert Herber.
Memorials may be made to Colonial Woods Missionary Church, the Gideons, Relay for Life, or the Port Huron Hospital Foundation.
