Audrey E Pack
Audrey E. “Mas” Pack, 73, of Port Huron, entered into eternal peace on Friday, August 16, 2013 surrounded by her family.
She was born May 12, 1940 in Port Huron to the late Albert and Dorothy Wood. She was a graduate of Port Huron High School and S.C.C.C.C.
Mrs. Pack was a lifelong community activist. She was the first African American female on the St. Clair County Board of Commissioners and Port Huron City Council. She recently retired from the St. Clair County Department of Human Services Board as Chairperson with over 30 years of combined service as either an elected or appointed official. Audrey retired from Michigan Bell Telephone Company as the Union President. She was a Past President of the Port Huron Branch of the NAACP, Democratic Party Delegate, a member of Faith Christian Community Church, Corinthian Chapter #19 O.E.S., Woman’s Life Chapter #837 and was involved in the Southside Coalition.
She is cherished by her husband, Richard; daughters, Terry (Morris) Hall, Renita (Rick) Banks, Roslyn (Martin) Nichols and Kimberley Pack; son Mark (Gail) Pack; grandchildren, Morris (Nikita) Hall Jr., Laquinda Williams, Krystal (Douglas) Williams, Dr. Antwan Hall and fiancé, Ntina Papanagiotou, Biancca (Jermaine) Broderick, Mark (Kiana) Pack II, Rick Banks II, Michael Pack, Jade Rhone, David Rhone II, Jason Kindle, Quentin (Erneshia) Petite II, Karltin (Kristian) Petite, Jillian Nichols, Martin Nichols Jr. and fiancé, Jessica Ferretti; great grandchildren, Matea Kearns, Danté Bassham, Terrence Hawthorne, Paiga Broderick, Nalani Broderick, Ariana Pack, Mark Pack III, Quentin Petite III, KaMayra Petite, Kayden Williams, Benjamin Whitenack, and Kassidy Ashbourne; sisters and brothers, Charlotte Tillery, Dorothy Santos, Edward (Linda) Wood, Barbara McMillan and Roger (Pauline) Wood; sister-in-law, Ada Wood; and many aunts, uncles, nieces, nephews, cousins and a host of friends. She was preceded in death by her brother, Albert Wood.
Visitation will be 6-9 p.m. Monday in Pollock-Randall Funeral Home, Port Huron.
Funeral services will be at 11:00 a.m. Tuesday, August 20, 2013 in Faith Christian Community Church, 1640 Cleveland St., Port Huron. The Reverend Jessica Totty will officiate. Burial will be in Lakeside Cemetery. Pallbearers will be her grandsons. Memorials may be made to Woman’s Life Chapter #837, 1338 Military St. Port Huron, MI 48060.
